25MW electrolysers installed at Belgian port
29 April 2026Enagás has completed Spain’s first hydrogen injection capacity allocation process, awarding 12.64 GWh per day of blending rights to 35 renewable hydrogen projects totalling approximately 900MW of electrolyser capacity — drawn from an oversubscribed field of 285 applications — giving each winner a two-year window to bring their facilities online.
The 35 selected projects represent 7.4% of Spain’s PNIEC hydrogen target for this first development phase, and the allocation is capped at 2% hydrogen by volume — a ceiling Enagás considers compatible with safe system operation — while the company simultaneously advances a €2.645 billion [$2.91bn] National Gas Network plan covering 2,600km of dedicated hydrogen pipelines across 13 autonomous communities.
