State of the Energy Union Report 2024 shows EU progress to ensure secure, competitive and affordable energy for all
13 September 2024Congratulations to European Commission nominees
17 September 2024In a landmark move set to reshape Spain’s renewable energy landscape, Envision Energy has announced a major partnership with the Spanish government and industry leaders. This collaboration aims to establish Europe’s first integrated green hydrogen net zero industrial park, positioning Spain at the forefront of the continent’s green energy transition.
The ambitious project, backed by an initial $1 billion investment, is poised to significantly accelerate Spain’s green hydrogen adoption plans. By developing a state-of-the-art facility capable of producing high-capacity electrolyzers, Envision and its partners are targeting the delivery of five gigawatts of electrolysis capacity. This substantial contribution aligns perfectly with Spain’s Hydrogen Roadmap, which aims to achieve eleven gigawatts of production by 2030.
The industrial park’s scope extends beyond manufacturing, encompassing design, research, and service functions for the entire green hydrogen value chain. From electrolysis and air separation to ammonia synthesis, the facility is set to become a comprehensive hub for scalable green ammonia production. This integrated approach is expected to drive innovation in renewable energy solutions for hard-to-abate industries, furthering Spain’s progress towards its goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 23% by 2030.
