Hydrogen Europe is very pleased to invite you to its “Hydrogen Talk” event series covering the topic: “REPowerEU and the building of the Green Hydrogen Partnership – Designing trade corridors between the EU, Africa and the Gulf”. Join us on Wednesday, 6 July, at 15:00 CEST for this 90 minute long webinar.

The REPowerEU communication presented by the European Commission on 8 March 2022 sets out the objective of delivering 20mt of renewable hydrogen by 2030, including 10mt of imports. To reach this target, the EU External Energy engagement document highlights the need to prioritise the conclusion of Hydrogen Partnerships between Europe, Africa, and the Gulf, with a first focus on relationships with Egypt, Morocco and other countries in the Southern Mediterranean. Import corridors with countries like South Africa and Namibia, which are already advancing in developing their renewable hydrogen sector and have attracted the interest of the EU industry, will also be at the centre of renewable hydrogen cooperation discussions.

This webinar will discuss the potential design of these trade corridors, by giving the floor to project leaders and government representatives from all continents involved. The speakers will discuss the need to aligning regulation frameworks, certifications, and standards for decarbonisation, promoting access to green tech finance in all continents and leveraging key funding programs to design mutually value adding collaboration models for Africa and Europe.
