The building of strategic hydrogen partnerships between Africa and Europe led by first bankable green hydrogen projects in Africa
The REPowerEU communication by the European Commission sets out the objective of delivering 20mt of renewable hydrogen by 2030, including 10mt of imports which will rely heavily on the conclusion of Hydrogen Partnerships between Europe, Africa and the Gulf.
Developing hydrogen economies in Africa will reduce the economic burden of importing fossil fuels, unlock access energy security and green fertilisers. Indeed, Africa offers great potential to produce price competitive renewable hydrogen both for domestic and export markets.
This event showcased commercially feasible green hydrogen projects in Africa and discuss the building of strategic hydrogen partnerships between Africa and Europe.
