28 June 2024Hydrogen Europe today announces that Stephen Jackson, Deputy CEO & Chief Trade & Funding Officer, will be leaving the association on 30 June. Jackson has played an instrumental role in advancing the mission of Hydrogen Europe of propelling global carbon neutrality by accelerating the European hydrogen industry.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to Stephen for his dedication and contributions to Hydrogen Europe,” said Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, CEO of Hydrogen Europe. “With him in the team, we have made significant strides in promoting hydrogen technologies and advocating for a robust hydrogen economy in Europe. We wish him all the best in his future endeavour, and we look forward to continuing working together also in his new role.”
Stephen Jackson expressed his sentiments on the departure: “It has been an honour to contribute to the growth of the association and the team for so many years. During my tenure a lot has been achieved to develop the clean hydrogen sector in Europe but also globally. Now is the time to ensure that clean molecules are competitive and that the sector thrives economically. I wish Hydrogen Europe all the very best and look forward to our future collaboration.”
Stephen Jackson joined Hydrogen Europe in 2021 after stints as Vice President and Senior Director in renowned Brussels-based consultancies where he was also involved with the hydrogen topic. His focus throughout his career has been on climate, energy, transport and trade policies but he also boasts strong expertise in research & development and industrial scale-up as well as association growth and management.
Hydrogen Europe will ensure a smooth transition while remaining committed to its mission of driving the hydrogen economy forward and achieving the EU’s climate and energy goals.
