31 July 2025The hydrogen-fueled commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) Windcat Rotterdam has successfully completed sea trials, paving the way for its delivery this summer.
Built by Damen Shipyards and launched in October 2024, the vessel is the first of six ordered by Dutch operator Windcat Offshore, a subsidiary of CMB.Tech. Following over a week of testing, Damen confirmed: “After more than a week of rigorous testing at sea, we’ve validated every element of this advanced ecosystem to ensure all systems work in perfect harmony.”
Designed to meet the operational needs of offshore wind commissioning, the 87-meter CSOV accommodates up to 120 people and uses a hybrid electric propulsion system powered primarily by hydrogen.
