7 February 2025The European Commission has committed €33m ($34.2m) to expanding hydrogen refuelling stations across the continent through its Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF).
In total, €422m ($438m) has been allocated to 39 alternative fuel projects in Europe, with eight of these focusing on hydrogen infrastructure throughout Spain, France and Germany.
Additionally, two of the projects will include the deployment of a small electrolyser to supply the refuelling stations with hydrogen. This includes HyLandAir, which has secured €5.6m ($5.8m) and will install two stations at Charles de Gaulle Aiport, powered by a 5MW electrolyser.
Almost €30m ($31m) has been allocated for an ammonia and methanol bunkering facility in Europe.
