Hydrogen EU Projects

Europe takes part in European projects when they provide an added value for its members and for the hydrogen sector as a whole. We decided to take part in the below projects as they fit with the mission of Hydrogen Europe. Either by creating a new activity which is key for the whole sector or ensuring the communication of flagship projects with a collective deployment effort.

The projects we are currently involved in are:

Fuel Cells & Hydrogen Observatory (FCHO)

The FCHO provides data (statistics, facts and analysis) and up to date information about the entire hydrogen sector. The FCHO focuses on technology and market statistics, socio-economic indicators, policy and regulation, and financial support. Funded by the FCH JU, the observatory is created for the use of policy makers, industry stakeholders and the general public equally.

H2Haul

H2Haul (Hydrogen Fuel Cell Trucks for Heavy Duty Zero Emissions Logistics – 826236) is a project co-financed by the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU). It aims to develop and deploy 16 zero-emission fuel cell trucks at four sites. In addition, new high-capacity hydrogen refuelling stations will be installed to provide reliable, low carbon hydrogen supplies to the trucks. The project began in 2019 and will run for five years.

H2Share

The goal of this Interreg North-Western Europe funded project is to facilitate wider implementation of transnational low-carbon transport solutions. By activating this market, NWE will become a leader in Europe for zero-emission heavy-duty transport. Concrete targets include: a 5% market share by 2030 (10.000 heavy-duty vehicles), the creation of 1.000 jobs, CO2 reduction of 1 million tons/year and stimulate (truck) production in NWE based industry.

H2SHIPS

H2SHIPS is an EU Project funded by Interreg North-West Europe and will develop an infrastructure for shipping using hydrogen propulsion that can drastically reduce pollution and improve our air and water quality.
