The Lead Hydrogen Technician will be a key field team lead for managing hydrogen generation, compression, transport, and refueling system operations for large-scale hydrogen infrastructure technology. Your skill and experience will be leveraged for field operations and maintenance support for our assets, training of customer O&M personnel around the globe, helping troubleshoot issues in the field for new hydrogen infrastructure technology; all while contributing to improve product design to optimize operability, maintainability, and reliability of newly developed state-of-the-art systems.

The Lead Hydrogen Technician will report to the Head of Operations.

Your Responsibilities

Develop into subject matter expert for field hydrogen infrastructure generation, compression, transport, and refueling systems
Lead maintenance personnel onsite troubleshooting systemic operations and maintainability issues
Analyze, optimize, and manage overall hydrogen infrastructure ecosystem for large-scale generation, compression, storage and refueling applications
LIFTE’s subject-matter expert (SME) with hands-on hydrogen commissioning and maintenance of our field systems
Work with Operations Team to improve maintenance procedures, tools, processes of our field systems
Contribute to the review of operability and maintainability of new hydrogen infrastructure products
Lead on the job maintenance, permit to work, LOTO, training for customer hydrogen technicians (where applicable)
Contribute to QHSSE framework for H2 Operations and Maintenance
Mentor junior LIFTE hydrogen technicians
Remote monitoring and troubleshooting new issues encountered in field

Der Verantwortungsbereich

Fachexpert*in für die Bereiche Erzeugung, Verdichtung, Transport und Betankungssysteme von Wasserstoffinfrastruktur
Leitung des Wartungspersonals vor Ort / remote bei der Behebung systembedingter Betriebs- und Wartungsprobleme
Leitung der technischen Inbetriebnahme vor Ort
Analysieren, optimieren und verwalten des gesamten Ökosystem der Wasserstoffinfrastruktur für Erzeugungs-, Kompressions-, Speicher- und Betankungsanwendungen
Fachexperte (SME) von LIFTE mit praktischer Wasserstoff-Inbetriebnahme und -Wartung unserer Feldsysteme
Zusammenarbeit im Ops-team, um Wartungsverfahren, Werkzeuge und Prozesse unserer Außendienstsysteme zu verbessern
Ops-Seitige Betreuung von neuen Produkten und Projekten um die Betriebsfähigkeit und Wartbarkeit neuer Wasserstoffinfrastrukturprodukte sicherzustellen und zu verbessern
Ausführung und Anleitung von Technikern bei Wartungsarbeiten, Arbeitserlaubnis, LOTO, Dokumentation
Schulung für Wasserstofftechniker des Kunden und im Rahmen der „LifteAcademy“
Beitrag zum QHSSE-Framework für H2-Betrieb und -Wartung
Mentor für Junior-LIFTE-Wasserstofftechniker
Fernüberwachung und Fehlersuche bei neuen Problemen, die vor Ort aufgetreten sind

What Experience & Education is Required?

Must have legal authorization to work in Germany on a full-time basis
15 years of hydrogen field operations and maintenance experience
Industrial systems operations and/or field troubleshooting experience an asset
Certification as a high pressure welder, electrician, control systems technician, or heavy duty mechanic is an asset
Experience working directly with hydrogen technology vendors is an asset

What Skills are Necessary for Success?

Detail-oriented
Knowledge of electrolysis, hydrogen compression, hydrogen process control and metering, and FCEV refueling systems & protocols
