At our Oevel site in Belgium, Cummins is developing innovative Fuel Cell and Electrolyzer technologies that can generate hydrogen for various applications with zero emissions – contributing to a safe and healthy environment for future generations.

We have a diverse team of engineers dedicated to the development of existing and future products for customers on a global scale. We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineering Leader to join the team. The role will report to the Design Engineering Manager.

Your impact will include:

• Leads the global team of Design Engineers (Structural and Piping Engineers)
• Assign team members to different engineering initiatives ensuring a balanced workload for all team members while respecting the agreed priorities.
• Ensures consistent quality and timely completion of deliverables, measures performance and defines KPIs
• Establishes departmental standards and best practices and safeguards uniform output of the team.
• Makes hardware and software tools available to the team, ensures the hardware and software are up to par with the business requirements and support maximum productivity
• Assist in resource forecasting
• Recruits new members according to the approved AOP
• Identifies training and support needs within the team in order to ensure a balanced competency mix in the team in the different global regions.
• Initiates engineering outsourcing activities where and when appropriate
• Reports to the Mechanical Design Engineering Manager.

Education

• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

Experience

• 5 years experience in a similar leadership role.
• Able to read and understand a P&ID.
• EPC background, preferably in Hydrogen, Oxygen service, Oil & Gas, Offshore equipment.
• Able to steer a global team of engineers located in India, Canada, Belgium, and other locations.
• Experience with structural design of static industrial installations, skid-based machinery, and piping design.
• Familiarity with mechanical design of high-voltage / high current electrical systems is a bonus
