Responsibilities

  • Design of test benches at both basic and detailed engineering levels, for both existing test benches and new projects, based on client requirements.
  • Requesting quotes for equipment and components: preparing specifications and overseeing the supply process.
  • Managing and/or participating in the installation of the designed systems, as well as their commissioning.
  • Simulating production processes for the developed designs, including their commissioning.
  • Areas of work related to hydrogen: electrolysis (primarily), storage, transport, and end uses.
  • Providing support in tasks related to preparing proposals for new technical projects in the above areas, in addition to managing ongoing projects.
  • Participating in scientific outreach efforts by collaborating with our training programs and site visits to the Foundation.

Requirements

  • Commitment, customer orientation, results-driven, teamwork, responsibility, autonomy, organization, planning, flexibility, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in the sizing/selection of equipment and components such as liquid-gas separators, valves, piping, pumps, heat exchangers, condensers, etc.
  • Familiarity with preparing and reviewing process flow diagrams (PFD), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and process control. Ideally, experience in the balance of plant (BOP) for electrolyzers.
  • Experience in experimentation. Strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with standard mechanical design codes.
  • English proficiency at B2-C1 level.

Additionally, the following will be highly valued:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a process engineer in a technical office or similar role.
  • Experience working with high-pressure and flammable gases.
  • Experience in the oil & gas sector.
  • Familiarity with risk analysis techniques (such as HAZOP).
  • Knowledge of process simulation software (ANSYS, Aspen+, COCO).

Your profile will stand out if you have…

  • Experience in simulation using Matlab, Hysis, Lucidchart, or similar software.
  • Experience/ability to learn to perform CFD-type simulations.
  • Highly valued knowledge of control, wiring, logic and control diagrams, and programming in languages compatible with PLCs used.
