Position Summary:

As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be dealing with state-of-the-art technology which has reached commercialization, but is constantly under innovation. Be at the forefront of the Green H2 revolution.

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for evaluating supplier capabilities and quality as it relates to key supplier delivery and quality requirements. This individual will refine and execute improvements to the supplier audit and qualification process with supply chain, engineering and the quality assurance team. This engineer will work to develop supplier quality plans on a regular basis.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a focal point for inbound/outbound technical quality communication on all production components.
  • Support Engineering DFMEA initiatives with collection of KPI data on critical design features.
  • Assist with qualification of IATF 16949 and develop initiatives for requirements.
  • Work extensively in the development and improvement of supply base performance for existing and new products.
  • Perform supplier assessments and supplier audits for compliance to regulations, agreements, standards, and documented processes.
  • Actively participate in the new product introduction team as it relates to supplier quality, supporting product and process design and development.
  • Execute and document supplier non-conformance reports Supplier Corrective Actions (SCARs) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field of study.
  • Minimum of three (3) years quality engineering experience (industrial and/or automotive is preferred).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in quality assurance, 8D/6Sigma, ISO and/or QS standards.
  • Self-starter with ability to design and implement quality systems and best practices.
  • Knowledge and experience with implementing Statistical Process Controls, applying Failure Modes.
  • Effects Analysis (FMEA), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and root cause analysis are a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time based on business need.
  • Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
