ITM Power electrolyser picked for Agder hydrogen project in Norway
13 February 2025Kassø Power-to-X has successfully produced its first batch of green hydrogen, setting the stage for future e-methanol production, a crucial development in Europe’s shift towards renewable energy sources.
Kassø Power-to-X, a key player in the renewable energy sector, has recently achieved a significant milestone by producing its first batch of green hydrogen. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to develop sustainable e-methanol, marking a pivotal advancement in Europe’s green transition efforts.
Utilizing advanced electrolyzers from Siemens Energy, the production process at Kassø involves the electrolysis of purified water. This method uses electricity generated from the company’s own solar park, ensuring that the hydrogen production is entirely powered by renewable energy sources. The electrolysis process effectively splits water into hydrogen and oxygen, with the hydrogen being the primary component for the subsequent synthesis stages.
