Lhyfe has signed a commercial, industrial and financial partnership with Messer under which the industrial gases company will take a 30% stake in four renewable hydrogen production sites in France and Germany and the companies will sign a 10-year renewable hydrogen supply contract.

Lhyfe said the agreement covers three of its sites in France and one in Germany, with Messer committing to a minimum purchase volume from 2026 that is expected to increase gradually to several hundred tonnes per year.

The company added that Messer aims to purchase half of the output from the three French sites and will bring expertise in industrial gases, including safety, operations, logistics, gas handling, customer relations and multi-gas distribution.
