Norwegian Hydrogen Forum
The Norwegian Hydrogen Forum (NHF) was founded in 1996 as a nonprofit members’ association for conveying and promoting the advantages of hydrogen as an energy carrier in Norway. Our more than 60 members span Norwegian industry, universities, research institutes and other organizations engaged or otherwise interested in hydrogen.
NHF works actively to disseminate key achievements from hydrogen research and technology commercialisation, market trends, national and international policy-making by organizing conferences, seminars and workshops, and connecting relevant international cooperation.
NHF works closely with Nordic sister organizations as well as relevant European associations and international entities. Norway is pioneering green transportation and electric mobility, and has the highest share of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) per capita in the world. This is the result of long-term policies with strong and predictable
tax incentives and owner benefits for zero emission passenger cars. Norway has also pioneered early testing and demonstration of fuel cell electric vehicles, (FCEVs), with hydrogen refueling stations for cars in operation since 2006 and for buses since 2012. This is now a basis for further development within other land transport segments and maritime transportation.
Norwegian companies, research institutes, and universities have over the last decades developed strong competence and long experience in hydrogen technologies. NHF is facilitating further development of these skills and capabilities so that Norwegian stakeholders can take an active role and share in the growing global market for hydrogen technologies. We are proud to foster green hydrogen solutions from Norway!
