Poland allocates €633m to six green hydrogen production projects
17 June 2025Motor Oil has opened Greece’s first public hydrogen refuelling station under its AVIN brand, located near its refinery in Agioi Theodoroi. The €3 million project, co-funded by the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility, serves both light and heavy-duty vehicles.
For now, green hydrogen is supplied by Austria’s Wien Energie and delivered by Coral Gas. From 2026, Motor Oil plans to use hydrogen produced at its own facility currently under construction. The station was built by BFS, a Motor Oil subsidiary.
Two more stations are planned in Akrata and Thriasio, with funding secured. Hydrogen will also power the company’s refinery and lubricants arm, LPC.
