Boosting renewable hydrogen: the Commission selects 15 projects to receive nearly €1 billion
20 May 2025The developer of a 1.3GW green hydrogen-based ammonia plant in India has inked an agreement with the Port of Rotterdam Authority to explore building a green energy supply chain between India and Northwest Europe.
AM Green and the Port of Rotterdam say they will look into the supply of bunkering fuels and sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), as well as the terminal infrastructure requirements in Rotterdam and across the region.
They also intend to support the development of hydrogen-based product distribution infrastructure.
The agreement supports AM Green’s ambition to become a major exporter of green hydrogen and ammonia to Europe, building on its 1.3GW plant in Kakinada, which reached final investment decision last August.
The Greenko-backed plans to develop five million tonnes of ammonia production capacity by 2030.
