Under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) will provide power for Qair France’s project in Port-la Nouvelle, which is currently being constructed and planned to be commissioned this year.

The project, being developed by Qair France and AREC Occitanie, is expected to initially produce 3,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year.

Several factors have led to the Occitanie region becoming one of the leading areas for hydrogen production in France, highlighted by a consortium of partners announcing plans to develop a low-carbon hydrogen hub at Port-la Nouvelle last October.
