Role Description:

The Hydrogen SME will play a pivotal role in providing process support across a diverse portfolio of energy projects. The incumbent must possess demonstrated expertise in applied process skills, particularly in modelling the dynamic behaviour of processing systems.

The primary focus will be on managing studies related to Hydrogen production, transportation, and storage. In addition, the Hydrogen Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the integration of renewables and exploring conversion options to other products, such as ammonia and synthetic fuels.

This position will require effective management of the technical interface with vendors, ensuring optimal technology application, and evaluating technical packages. The Hydrogen Specialist’s experience in start-up and commissioning activities of facilities will be highly valuable. Working within a multidisciplinary project environment, the role demands excellent communication and collaboration with other discipline engineers to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead process efforts on major projects related to Hydrogen production, transportation, and storage.

• Oversee studies and projects concerning the integration of renewables and the conversion to other products, such as ammonia and synthetic fuels.

• Manage the technical interface with vendors to ensure efficient technology application and evaluate technical packages.

• Utilize expertise in process modelling tools like ASPEN/HYSY, PRO/II, etc., to support project needs.

• Estimate and create execution plans for process work scopes.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to engineers in areas of expertise.

• Demonstrate creativity and problem-solving abilities to address challenges within given time and budget constraints.

• Prioritize safety and quality commitment throughout project execution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree with significant experience within the energy and chemicals industry, with a specific emphasis on the Blue and Green hydrogen value chain.

• Knowledge and experience with Electrolysis Packages (PEM, Alkaline, solid oxide, etc.) is a plus.

• Proficiency in using process modelling tools such as ASPEN/HYSY, PRO/II, etc.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration within the team.

• Proven ability to independently perform process activities with minimal supervision.

• Dedication to safety, quality, and team success.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills to devise innovative solutions during uncertain project stages.
