Project Officer “Sustainable mobility and renewable energy”

The Delegation of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region in Brussels is looking for a new colleague to join the team composed of 6 persons. Our office represents regional interests in Brussels and informs on EU programmes, policies and funding. It also supports elected officials and services in the Region, but also socio-economic actors of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region who wish to mobilize European funding, integrate European partnerships and networks or to be put in touch with the European institutions to defend their interests and influence European legislation.
The project officer “Sustainable mobility and renewable energy” in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes’s Brussel’s office will be required on its portfolio to follow and relay the information on EU funding, legislation and politics to the elected representatives, services and actors of the Region and, on the other hand, to promote the Region and its activities to the European institutions and actors on the following topics:
- Smart mobility / transport
- Renewable energy, including Hydrogen
General Activities:
- Drafting and dissemination of a watch on funding programmes, legislation and policies via various information tools
- Regular contacts with the European institutions and other European actors (networks and Partner European Regions) and participation in events and information meetings,
- Organisation of technical and political missions to Brussels for elected representatives, services and regional actors
Activities specific to the portfolio
- Monitor the regulatory, legislative and political activity of the main European institutions (Commission, Parliament and European Council) on portfolio themes (transport and energy) and disseminate it to our users of the Delegation, via newsletters, website and all other relevant actions (webinars, workshops, etc.),
- Inform, raise awareness and support the Operational Directorates of the Region and stakeholders on European funding opportunities in sectoral programmes (MIE, FCHJU, I3, Horizon Europe etc.) and assist in setting up projects for the Region;
- Follow the activities of the European networks of which the Region is a member, in particular, the regions working group of the “Automotive Skills Alliance”, the “Mobility” working group of the Clean H2 Alliance and the H2 working group of the EUSALP
- Represent the Region at the Med Corridor and North Sea Med Forums in connection with the CEF in the framework of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T)
- Co-lead the S3 Hydrogen Valleys partnership and hydrogen Europe’s regional pillar to contribute to the detection of opportunities and the enhancement of the Region in terms of hydrogen, in connection with the Region’s H2 working group
How to apply?
KNOWLEDGE and KNOW-HOW
- Master degree (Political Science, Economics, Innovation preferably with a specialization in European Affairs)
- Professional experience of at least 2 years on comparable topics
- Good knowledge of EU decision-making process, European institutions, policies and programmes (professional experience in Brussels will be considered an advantage).
- Good knowledge of the functioning of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, its actors and its priorities, particularly in the portofolio.
- Fluency in French and English
KNOW-HOW:
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to animate a network of actors or partners (even remotely) and to work independently
- Mobility, adaptability and availability.
The position is located in Brussels but regular trips to lyon are foreseen
