The Hydrogen Specialist will showcase proven expertise in applied Process skills, demonstrating adeptness in modelling the dynamic behaviour of processing systems. This role requires adept management of studies related to Hydrogen Production, Transportation, and Storage, including overseeing integration with renewables and potential conversion to products like ammonia or synthetic fuels.

The specialist will actively engage in the technical interface with technology licensors/vendors, ensuring seamless technology application and technical package evaluation. Hands-on experience in start-up and commissioning activities, coupled with effective communication in a multidisciplinary project environment, is paramount.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Process efforts on major projects, providing valuable input and creative solutions within time and budget constraints.
  • Mentorship of engineers in areas of expertise, demonstrating a commitment to team success.
  • Report to the Delivery Manager, serving as an expert for both blue and green Hydrogen projects/proposals.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Energy and Chemicals Industry, specializing in Blue and Green Hydrogen Value Chain.
  • 7+ years of Process Engineering and Design practice, with a focus on project execution and process involvement.
  • 5+ years of experience in Steam Methane Reforming (Hydrogen) or Auto Thermal Reforming (Hydrogen) design and/or operation.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Process Design, specifically Steam Methane Reforming (Hydrogen) or Auto Thermal Reforming (Hydrogen).
  • Experience with Electrolysis Packages (PEM, Alkaline, solid oxide, etc.) is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience with Process modelling tools like ASPEN/HYSY, PRO/II, etc., including estimating and creating execution plans for Process work scopes.
  • Strong written and communication skills, showcasing the ability to perform Process activities with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage uncertainty in the early project stages and deliver effective customer presentations.
  • Proficiency in technical writing, comprehensive documentation, and effective interaction with clients, vendors, OEMs, and stakeholders.
  • Support safety and risk studies, including HAZOP, HAZID, QRA, SIL, and others.
  • Collaborate with marketing, BD teams, contribute to proposal development, and actively participate in project delivery.
