Together with Transport & Environment and AeroSpace and Defence Industries Associations of Europe, we are reaching out to you to raise our concerns regarding the ongoing talks on the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation.

The European Commission proposal and current positioning of Member States show very little support to renewable hydrogen in aviation, a fuel which will play a key role in decarbonising the sectors in the years to come. As the Regulation will apply until 2050 and beyond and considering the European Green Deal goals, we are convinced that including renewable hydrogen in the scope now would give stakeholders a very clear signal and help the industry prepare for the rollout of such technology. Many of our members are getting ready for zero emission aviation; to ensure a rapid transition they need legislative clarity and support.

With this in mind, we have sent a letter to Minister de Montchalin as well as the Transport Ministers of all EU Member States.
