The European hydrogen industry joins forces calling on the European Commission to compliment the Fit-for-55 package with a workable approach to additionality, geographic and temporal correlation. This Delegated Act is decisive to achieving the Hydrogen Strategy targets, deploying large scale renewable hydrogen projects and keeping the ambition of the proposed Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) revision.

The representatives of more than 50 hydrogen organisations raised concern on the impact the DA’s stringent criteria could have on the rollout of a European hydrogen economy and more specifically on electrolyser manufacturers. Today six out of ten largest electrolyser producers in the world are European companies. They have a strategic role to play in bringing down emissions and maintaining the EU’s position as a world leader on energy innovation technologies.
