19 July 2023France gears Up for 1st Highway Hydrogen Station
20 July 2023Danish clean tech developer Floating Power Plant A/S (FPP) said on Tuesday that its wave-wind-hydrogen hybrid demonstration project off the coast of Spain has been selected to receive a grant from the EU Innovation Fund.
The SEAWORTHY project, or Sustainable dispatchable Energy enabled by wAve-Wind OffshoRe plaTforms with onboard Hydrogen, will demonstrate the commercial feasibility and environmental benefits of integrating wave and wind energy with hydrogen production and storage, FPP CEO Anders Køhler said in the announcement.
For this project, the company will build, test and operate a floating platform with a 4.3-MW wind turbines, 0.8 MW of wave energy converters, electrolysers with hydrogen storage and a fuel cell. The hybrid device will be installed off the coast of Las Palmas at the test site run by the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN), where FPP previously secured a spot to deploy its wind and wave platform.
