Position: Director of Technical Programs for Fuel Cell Business
Location: Massachusetts, US
Role and Responsibilities:
As the Director of Technical Programs for our fuel cell business, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and execution of our ambitious technology projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, product management, and business development, to ensure the successful delivery of innovative fuel cell solutions. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Technical Program Leadership: Lead and manage the technical aspects of fuel cell programs, from concept to commercialization. Drive the overall program strategy, set clear objectives, and ensure the team’s alignment with business goals.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple projects concurrently, establishing timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Monitor progress, mitigate risks, and provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Innovation and R&D: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the technical teams. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, evaluate new technologies, and identify opportunities for research and development.
- Collaboration and Team Building: Promote a collaborative and cohesive environment within the technical teams. Encourage knowledge sharing, mentorship, and professional development to strengthen team capabilities.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Implement best practices in project execution, documentation, and reporting.
- Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and collaborations with external organizations, academic institutions, and research facilities to enhance technical capabilities and drive mutual growth.
- Budget Management: Work closely with the finance department to create and manage budgets for technical programs. Monitor expenditures, optimize resource allocation, and maximize return on investment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in managing technical programs related to fuel cells, renewable energy, or clean technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of fuel cell technologies, including system design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating cross-functional technical teams.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements within the clean energy industry.
- Experience in collaborating with external partners, research institutions, and government agencies is a plus.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Visionary thinking and the ability to anticipate and address future challenges and opportunities in the fuel cell industry.
