Hydrogen Europe’s work is driven by the secretariat, the board of directors, the members, technical committees, and working groups. It is split into three pillars – Technology & Market, Policy, and Operations.

The Technology & Market pillar consists of Intelligence, Innovation, and Funding & Financing teams. The Intelligence team supports the organization, policymakers, and its members with data and information. It performs data gathering, ad-hoc analyses, and hydrogen market development comparisons. It develops techno-economic analyses of different business models and conducts research to answer technical and market questions from members and policymakers.

Main responsibilities:

The intern will be part of the Intelligence team within the Technology & Market team. The tasks will include:

  1. Research, data collection, and general support
    1. Conduct desk research on hydrogen related topics and synthesizing for non-experts
    2. Support colleagues with assessing how proposed policies could impact the emergence of clean hydrogen market and deployment of clean hydrogen technologies
    3. Assist with updating existing databases and other data collection efforts
  2. Data analysis
    1. Manipulate and create outputs based on collected data for presentations and public outputs (such as the Clean Hydrogen Monitor)
    2. Conduct analyses to respond to ad-hoc requests for support from Hydrogen Europe members, colleagues, or policymakers

Ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong analytical mind with a high level of curiosity
  • Capacity to collect, organise, and analyse quantitative and qualitative data
  • Basic knowledge of the energy sector and willingness to learn about the role of clean hydrogen in a zero emission society
  • Good numerical skills
  • Solid writing skills in English
  • Ability to structure and prioritize to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools with a focus on Excel
  • A relevant university degree (engineering or other science subjects, economics, business, IR/policy degree only with significant quantitative/analytical experience)

  • First interview and subsequent Excel test with hiring manager
  • Second interview with Director, Intelligence and/or Chief Technology & Market Officer
