Alstom to supply further H2-powered trains to Italian railways
5 January 2024Six gas transmission operators have launched a pre-feasibility to set up a hydrogen pipeline from Finland through Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to Germany.
The Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor has been slated as a way to connect green energy production hubs in Northern Europe to high consuming Central Europe.
Germany predicts its 2030 hydrogen demand to reach 95-130TWh – foreseeing 50-70% being met by imports.
With plans to see the project implemented by 2030, Gasgrid Finland, Estonia’s Elering, Latvian Conexus Baltic Gird, Lithuania’s Amber Grid, Polish GAZ-SYSTEM and German ONTRAS, on Wednesday (January 3) launched a pre-feasibility study into the undertaking.
